This week’s “going deeper” verses are John 8:12 and 9:5. Jesus has just fed the 5,000 and the people are searching for him.  He has just told them that He is the bread of life and then goes further describing His Father’s will for them. Just what was Jesus saying to the crowd (and to us)?

North Korea recently sentenced a U.S. Christian missionary to eight years of hard labor.  His treatment shows the plight of believers in that reclusive country.    “Brother John” (not his real name) supervised the work of Open Doors in North Korea. He agrees, noting that, “North Korea is a country close to my heart.
